The Ministry of Interior Promotes the values of Positive Citizenship through a University Council " Majlis" in Umm Al Quwain

The Office of the Culture of Respect for the Law at the General Directorate of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Human Rights Department, organized a council as part of the "University Councils (Majlas" " initiative at the University of Umm Al Quwain.

The council addressed the topic of "The Document of Values and Behaviors of the Emirati Citizen," which represents a national reference for instilling authentic Emirati identity and strengthening national belonging among youth and university students.

Major Dr. Hawa Yousef Al Raisi and Dr. Lamia Ali Al Zarouni from the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior participated in the council, along with a number of students and faculty members.

Attendees discussed the document's themes and objectives in building a cohesive society based on solid values, positive behavior, and mutual respect.

Major Dr. Hawa Al Raisi emphasized that the Document of Values and Behaviors represents an important national initiative that promotes the concept of positive citizenship among young people, noting that university councils seek to engage students in constructive dialogue about their role in preserving the image of the model Emirati citizen in various fields.

For her part, Dr. Lamia Al Zarouni explained that the cooperation between the Ministry of Interior and higher education institutions is part of an integrated work system and embodies the state's commitment to raising generations aware of their rights and duties towards the nation and society. She emphasized that these initiatives contribute to instilling a culture of law, tolerance, and respect as fundamental values in individual and societal behavior.

The "University Councils Majalas " initiative is part of the Ministry of Interior's strategy to promote a culture of respect for the law and spread community awareness among young people through open dialogue in an academic environment that encourages the exchange of views on the values of citizenship and national identity, and supports the role of students in building a future based on responsibility and a positive sense of belonging to the nation.
