UAE Police Team Wins Singapore Shooting Championship

The UAE Police Team claimed first place in the overall standings, securing the shield of the Singapore International Shooting Championship held from October 14 to 20, 2024. The event, organized by the Singapore Shooting Club, featured competitors from nine countries, including Singapore, Australia, the Philippines, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and the United Arab Emirates.

The championship included tactical shooting, precision shooting, and plate shooting challenges across individual and team events for both men and women.

Brigadier Dr. Omar Al Khayal, Director of the Police Sports Federation Department, welcomed the UAE team, commending their impressive performance amid fierce competition from international teams.

Brigadier Mohammed Humaid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Police Sports Federation’s Board of Directors, emphasized that this success reflects a well-coordinated effort and ongoing initiatives to enhance the skills, capabilities, and efficiency of police personnel, aiming to boost their readiness and physical performance.

He highlighted that the leadership’s support has been instrumental in maintaining these accomplishments and building teams capable of excelling at global events, thereby strengthening the UAE police’s esteemed international reputation. Brigadier Dr. Al Khayal expressed pride in the team’s achievements, attributing their success to dedication, persistent effort, and high-level training.

He noted that the UAE Police team demonstrated exceptional discipline, professionalism, and skill, allowing them to outperform other top international competitors. He extended congratulations and appreciation to the team members and those behind their success at the Police Sports Association under the Ministry of Interior.

In the tactical shooting competition (open category, individual), Captain Ali Al Rahma from the UAE Police Team secured first place, while First Lieutenant Omar Al Harmoudi took second, leading to a first-place finish for the UAE team in the overall tactical shooting event.

In the women’s individual category, Captain Hanadi Al Kabouri won first place, and First Warrant Officer Maryam Ahmed earned third place. In the PPC accuracy competition (open category, individual), First Warrant Officer Abdullah Suleiman Al Naqbi claimed first place, while First Lieutenant Hamda Al Balushi finished third.

In the team events, the UAE Police men’s team secured second place, while the women’s team achieved third. First Lieutenant Hamda Al Beloushi, Captain Hanadi Al Kabouri, and First Lieutenant Maryam Ahmed dominated the top three individual spots. In the shoot-off competition, a challenge to knock down iron plates among the top four finalists, First Lieutenant Omar Al Harmoudi of the UAE Police Team emerged victorious.
