The Law Respect Culture Office at MOI hosted a virtual awareness session titled "Security and Safety Systems for Citizens Abroad." The session aimed to provide awareness and guidance to citizens abroad, covering key considerations before, during, and after their travel. The session was moderated by Hassan Al-Badawi from the Khalifa Empowerment Program "Aqdar and key speakers included Ahmed Mohamed Al-Kathiri, Head of Citizen Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Major Saif Mohammed Al-Kaabi, Director of the Police Representation Department at MOI’s International Affairs Office. During the session, Ahmed Al-Kathiri outlined the services provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for UAE nationals abroad. These services include the "Twajudi" service, which facilitates communication with UAE missions abroad during emergencies and crises to assist travelers and coordinate their return to the country. He also highlighted the service for issuing return documents through the Ministry’s website or mobile app in cases of lost, expired, or damaged passports. Additionally, he introduced the dedicated emergency contact number (80024) for immediate communication with UAE embassies and consulates. He encouraged traveling citizens to review the travel advisory page on the Ministry’s website, which provides essential information for each travel destination, including current warnings and visa exemption details. He also advised ensuring passport validity, securing international health insurance, and registering for the Twajudi service. Major Saif Mohammed Al-Kaabi, Director of the Police Representation Department at MOI’s International Affairs Office, emphasized that the Ministry’s police attach s collaborate closely with UAE embassies and consulates worldwide to assist citizens in emergencies. The attach s monitor issues faced by UAE nationals abroad by coordinating with embassies and police stations during investigations to resolve matters amicably before they escalate to court. He advised citizens to report any emergencies immediately. Additionally, he discussed the "Markhoos" service, launched by MOI in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which aims to inform UAE citizens abroad about countries that recognize and exchange UAE driving licenses.
