MOI Takes Part in International Security Expo in London

The Ministry of Interior made its mark at the International Security Expo held in London, drawing senior decision-makers from the security field and specialists in security and police institutions. This active participation underscores the Ministry's commitment to bolstering its global presence through international gatherings, fostering collaboration, coordinating efforts, and sharing best practices and innovative proposals, all aimed at advancing community security.

Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director of the Special Tasks Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, presented over a significant session during the expo, dedicated to the International Initiative of Law Enforcement for Climate (I2LEC). Led by the UAE Ministry of Interior in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs, this initiative focuses on combating crimes with environmental implications. The session garnered the attendance of numerous diplomats, police attaches, foreign liaison officers in London, senior representatives of British law enforcement institutions, and representatives from government and private sectors vested in security and police matters.

The I2LEC was introduced, emphasizing its pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of human resources in tackling crimes stemming from climate change. The initiative received international acclaim and support for its nature and its overarching goals, which seek to fortify societal security.

Discussion at the expo centered on the objectives of this climate initiative, as well as its current and future projects and initiatives. These initiatives are geared toward strengthening, training, and developing personnel within law enforcement forces worldwide, with a specific focus on addressing environmental crimes, thus contributing to a more secure and sustainable global future.
