MOI Joins UNODC to Step Up Efforts in Combating Human Trafficking
The Ministry of Interior has partnered with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to launch the first phase of a specialized training course, Training of Trainers in the Field of Combating Human Trafficking Crimes. This initiative, held from November 25 to 29 at the Federal Police School in Sharjah, is organized by the Ministry’s Human Rights Department through the Committee to Combat Human Trafficking Crimes.
This training program aims to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement personnel by equipping them with advanced skills and techniques to train others in combating human trafficking. It aligns with the Ministry’s commitment to fulfilling international and regional obligations while fostering international cooperation and protecting victims of such crimes.
Colonel Saeed Al Kindi, a member of the Anti-Human Trafficking Committee, inaugurated the course alongside UNODC experts Dr. Muhannad Al Duwaikat and Counselor Haitham Hijazi. Specialists from the Ministry and police leadership across the UAE were also present to participate in this important initiative.
The course is designed to prepare trainers with scientific and practical approaches to address human trafficking. Topics include effective training methods, identifying learner types, assessing training needs, planning lessons, and creating measurable objectives.
This program underscores the strong collaboration between the Ministry of Interior and UNODC, highlighting their shared mission to build human capacity and combat human trafficking on a global scale.
