Maj Gen Salem Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary of the MoI for Resources and Support Services, attended the dialogue session organized by the Coordinating Committee for Women's Police Affairs in the Ministry in cooperation with the Human Rights Department. This event comes within the framework of the MoI's keenness to participate in supporting international efforts in the fields of human rights, including participation in the international "Orange Campaign" led by UN Women annually, to be organized annually for 16 days, starting from the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25 to December 10.
Maj Gen Salem Al Shamsi said that this global humanitarian occasion comes within the continuous efforts of the international community to enhance protection, prevention and community safety, where women occupy a distinguished status in society and their leading position in the UAE is reinforced by wise policies, civilized laws and the efforts of the concerned authorities to see and support the wise leadership, which has given women a special status and enabled them to play the expected role in the comprehensive development of the country.
Dr. Lamia Al Zarouni from the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior, and Amna Al Mutawa from the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, moderated by Captain Fahd Haikal from the Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Interior, also spoke in the session, as they emphasized that the UAE represents a distinguished model in civilized dealing with the groups of society through policies, plans and legislation. Supportive of the protection of society, including women who have achieved pioneering achievements with the vision of wise leadership.
