In the framework of the "Arab Digital Economy Vision Project," first announced in Abu Dhabi in December 2018 with the generous support of HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect and preserve him, and later approved at the Arab Leaders Summit in Algeria in 2022, Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, inaugurated the Digital Economy Technologies Conference and Exhibition "Seamless 2024" today, Tuesday. The event, held at the Dubai Convention and Exhibition Center from May 14-16, 2024, is sponsored by the League of Arab States and organized by the Arab Union for the Digital Economy, along with the international conference organizing company Terrapin.
Sheikh Saif attended the opening session of the conference, where he and the attendees witnessed the unveiling of the Arab Digital Economy Index Report (2024). They also learned about the establishment of the "Hikma" Center for Scientific Research at the Arab and Islamic levels and the Arab Artificial Intelligence initiative aimed at fostering innovation, developing sectoral solutions, and enhancing access to information in Arabic. The opening ceremony included keynote speeches addressing these vital topics.
A significant array of government officials from across the Arab region, a select group of private sector leaders, and international experts convene to delve into the conference's focal themes, encompassing digital banking services, digital identity, financial technology, digital currencies, electronic and digital payments, e-commerce, and various facets of the digital sector such as retail, logistics, e-marketing, and digital banking. The opening ceremony boasted notable attendees, including HE Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade; HE Eng. Atef Helmy, former Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the Arab Republic of Egypt and President of the General Assembly of the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy; HE Ruqaya Al-Dirham, former Minister of Digital Economy in the Kingdom of Morocco; Lord Merlin Hay and Baroness Paula Auden, both Members of the British House of Lords; HE Hani Mohamed Mahmoud, Former Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Arab Republic of Egypt; HE Professor Dr. Mohamed Othman Al-Khasht, President of Cairo University; Sheikha Nawal Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah, President of the Arab Union to Combat Forgery and Counterfeiting; HE Counselor Khairy Ahmed Al-Kabbash, President of the Court of Appeal of the Arab Republic of Egypt; HE Dr. Ali Mohamed Al-Khoury, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Union for the Digital Economy. The gathering also included numerous ambassadors from Arab and Western countries accredited to the state, alongside a plethora of Arab government officials, digital economy experts, and representatives from specific Arab organizations and unions operating under the auspices of the League of Arab States.
Saif bin Zayed and Ministerial Tour:

His Highness and accompanying Ministers briefed conference guests on the latest technological advancements in electronic and digital payments, e-commerce, financial technology, digital identity, banking, and logistics sectors.

The Digital Economy Technologies Conference and Exhibition, "Seamless Middle East 2024," stands as the largest event in the Middle East focusing on digital economy topics. With over 500 speakers participating in 200 sessions and lectures, and more than 25,000 officials from both the public and private sectors representing over 5,000 institutions from 130 countries, the event garners broad regional and global participation. Participants commended the emergence of exhibiting companies and institutions, exceeding 720 international companies and 400 startups. This year's conference and exhibition session builds upon the efforts of the Arab League and the Arab Federation for the Digital Economy to spotlight the role of advanced technologies in shaping social and economic systems in the region. The event draws a significant number of government officials and experts, providing insights into the latest technologies and challenges in the digital revolution.
