UAE Takes Part in 10th Conference of Human Rights Officials in Arab Interior Ministries Held in Egypt
The UAE Ministry of Interior, through its Human Rights Department, participated in the 10th Conference of Human Rights Officials in Arab Ministries of Interior, held in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The event was attended by human rights officials and representatives from Arab interior ministries.
Key conference topics were reviewed and discussed by participants, including the outcomes of implementing the recommendations from the 9th Conference of Human Rights Officials. The discussions also highlighted the experiences of Arab interior ministries in the field of human rights.
The UAE Ministry of Interior shared its experience with its reference guide for protecting human rights within police work, its investment in official police websites and social media platforms to promote human rights awareness, and the impact of new training programs on enhancing the skills and capabilities of Arab police officers working in the human rights sector. Furthermore, the project to implement the Arab strategic plan for advancing human rights in security operations was also discussed.
The conference included a ceremony honoring the winners and distributing research certificates to representatives of Arab interior ministries. Aisha Al Buraimi, from the UAE Ministry of Interior, was awarded second place for her research titled "Climate Change and Human Rights." As part of the conference, participants also visited the Reform and Rehabilitation Center in the city of Tenth of Ramadan.
