The workshop aims to enable leaders to develop ideas that help develop security and policing work, deal with the developments and changes in the world today, and formulate future visions and formulate concrete actions that make change, prepare the sectors of the ministry for the future and develop the capabilities of future thinking, and integrate forward-looking skills in leadership development.
Lecturer Jack Franklin Donaghan, Director of Research at the Institute for Future Studies, USA, addressed the key concepts of the future thinking of leaders and the role played by future hypotheses in the UAE.
He pointed to the differences between forward-looking and 10-year strategic planning, shifting from formal future assumptions to understanding available possibilities, and thinking of distant future assumptions such as the UAE 2070 plan.
During the workshop, leaders were given the opportunity to interact and participate in exploring how to apply future thinking, forward thinking skills and strategic planning.
