The fifth edition of the Police Martial Arts Championship concluded yesterday following two days of intense competition at the Al Jazira Sports Club Hall in Abu Dhabi. The event featured 65 male and 22 female participants, representing police forces from across the UAE. The championship saw the Dubai Police General HQs team clinch first place in the men’s category, followed by the Abu Dhabi Police team in second, and the Ministry of Interior team in third. In the women’s category, the Dubai Police General HQs team also took the top spot, with the Abu Dhabi Police General HQs securing second place, and the Ministry of Interior team finishing in third.

For the overall ranking, the Martial Arts Championship Shield for 2024 was awarded to the Abu Dhabi Police General HQs team, who emerged as the overall leader. Brigadier Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Minister’s Office and Chairman of the Police Sports Federation Council, presented the winners with their awards. He praised the high level of performance and sportsmanship displayed throughout the competition.

Al Dhaheri emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to organizing such events for police forces nationwide, aiming to enhance the readiness and physical capabilities of police personnel. This, in turn, contributes to improving their ability to handle security challenges effectively.
